Bell and Rogers claim CRTC's unlocked phone rule has resulted in a spark in crime
In this interview, Beauceron CEO, David Shipley discusses the recent claim of increase of crime with unlocked phones.
Previously, phones were 'locked' to one company, disabling users from switching providers without paying an additional fee. Recently, the CRTC came down with regulation forcing telecommunications companies to 'unlock' phones for consumers for free.
As a result, Bell and Rogers are claiming many phones are being stolen with armed robberies on the rise.
Which leads to the question, are unlocked phones a new form of currency for criminals?
